AND THE WEEK GOES LIKE THIS(FOR THE MONTH)

Hi good boys and girls! this week was so long in fact it was a month. The month of october was so busy for me that i thought it would be best to just review the month and not just the week so thats what is happening. the begining of the month was great. a big shout out to SISTER ANNE! i saw them right before october at mercury lounge were they had the walls breaking with fans of their great sound...myself included...happy belated b day to kittanna! my band THE VIOLENCE played at alphabet lounge on october 1st to a full crowd of friends who tore the house down! MAMAS DIRTY LITTLE SECRET was in the house and partied to the sounds we created...it was a super fun night!!! i think that people are still exclaiming not to be afraid of anything.... i saw NEW MADRID at shea stadium...no not the place where baseball is king but rather the recording studio that doubles as a music venue in brooklyn.NEW MADRID opened with just the guitar player(eric) playing an insanely beautiful guitar solo and then being joined by each of the two other members until the end result of beautiful and simpatico greatness that is NEW MADRID(axel, eric, and anthony) axel and eric are brothers and anthony plays bass. Axel is drummer and lead singer of NEW MADRID and is always sweaty at the end of each performance...which shows how hard he is working for the audience, and believe me it is much appreciated!!! i also attempted to see them for a CMJ event but was held hostage by the MTA over most of the weekends in the month of october(evil MTA!) i sang at an open mic in october that was well perfect( the open mic that is)! Its the SING FOR CHANGE @ the nururiccan which is a monthly event thrown by AURORA ROSE (who has an amazing voice!) she brings musicians together for real! the sounds that i heard from that place were unbelievable! IFE MORA played a few of her amazing songs as well as ERNEST D'AMASO ,DIAZ SINGS and even SOULPRODUCT performed great songs that shows how great the nyc music scene should be.AURORA has designers and different organizations sit in during the night and a sick band that can follow you when your playing your original or even cover songs. leave your attitude at the door or better yet dont have one at all when coming because the night is great and accepting of all music genres so youll fit right in. THE VIOLENCE played at the BRONXS ACADEMY OF ARTS AND DANCE
(B.A.A.D.) this month it was super cool we saw SEAN360X they were super cool and explosive also the GENESSA JAMES TRIO played one of the dopest sets imaginable. B.A.A.D. is a nonprofit in the bronx ran by CHARLES RICE-GONZALEZ who also does a pretty good strip tease to sell b.a.a.d merch! and his partner who is aside from being an amazing dancer who creates dances in the nude is also one of the best lighting and sound guy too! they have festivals throughout the year and we were lucy enough to be a part of the black-tino concert series but we may also be included in the B.A.A.D. ASS WOMEN OF ROCK festival aswell so keep your fingers crossed for us:) On halloween i threw my first ever event at BAR EAST(1st ave b/w89 &90th) it was named HALLOWEEN ROCKS.. because well it does....and we rocked it out with HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL,VERONICA,SALVO,AND NEW MADRID. It was a super fun night and ALL of the bands sounded individual and strong (which is the reason we make music right?) i think its the coolest thing that uptown has heard in awhile and i was super happy to have my first event be a success! last night i went to see a play reading of GENEVA by A.B. LUGO atTEATRO LA TEA in LES although i only made it for the second act i felt it was a stellar work and look forward to seeing the staged version in january,,,january 15,16,and 17 to be exact and if the reading is any indication the performance should be packed with questions about our society questions that should be asked and unfortunately are not.THE VIOLENCE wont be playing any shows in november because we are hitting the studio...hard! but we are playing DEC 5th at the BOWERY POETRY CLUB and well play another new song just for you i hope that life is treating you well or if not i hope that it is at least tolerable!
peace and love
